So what can you expect to find this spring? Here are a few in the spring TV lineup:

1. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

Genre: Drama Network: The CW Pilot Premiere Date: Thursday, January 21 at 8pm

Plot: This is a CW spinoff from The Flash and Arrow. You’ll see a few familiar characters from the two shows. It’s about a team forced to work together to defend the world. Though many of the team members don’t see eye-to-eye, they must unite for the greater good.

2. The X-Files

Genre: Drama/Sci-fi Network: FOX Premiere Date: Sunday, January 24 at 10ET/7PT

Plot: The X-Files was a huge hit in the 90’s. Now, 13 years after it’s last airdate, X-Files fans and newbies can enjoy a new six-part series. Yes, Mulder and Scully are back! It’ll be fun to see what’s happened to them since we’ve last seen them— maybe we’ll even get answers to some old questions.

3. Lucifer

Genre: Drama Network: FOX Pilot Premiere Date: Monday, January 25 at 9/8c

Plot: Lucifer (yes, the devil) heads to Los Angeles for a new change of scenery. After all, an eternity in Hell could bore anyone. It only makes sense to drop everything and buy a nightclub. There, Lucifer assists the LAPD to punish criminals. The series is loosely based on DC/Vertigo comics.

4. The Magicians

Genre: Drama/Fantasy Network: Syfy Pilot Premiere Date: Monday, January 25 at 9pm

Plot: The Magicians is part 1 of a fantasy book trilogy by Lev Grossman. It’s a great story line that adult Harry Potter fans will undoubtedly enjoy. It takes place predominately at a Wizard University, where only the best magicians get to study.

5. You, Me and the Apocalypse

Genre: Comedy/Drama Network: NBC Pilot Premiere Date: Thursday, January 28 at 8/7c

Plot: Keep in mind that this is mainly a comedy, but you are bound to have a little drama when the central plot involves the end of mankind. When a comet is detected with a straight course towards Earth, people go a bit crazy and do uncertain things. This series stars Rob Lowe and Jenna Fischer (The Office).

6. Of Kings and Prophets

Genre: Drama Network: ABC Pilot Premiere Date: Tuesday, March 8 at 10/9c

Plot: Religious movies have become more popular lately—like Noah (starring Russell Crowe) and Exodus: Gods and Kings (starring Christian Bale). Now ABC is coming out with Of Kings and Prophets, a TV series adaption of the Old Testament’s King Saul. King Saul had a mighty rule that became overshadowed by corruption. His reign ends when David, a young shepherd comes into the picture. David will ultimately replace King Saul. And this is their story.
